Martine Piccart, MD, PhD

Martine J. Piccart, MD, PhD, is Honorary Professor of Oncology at Université Libre de Bruxelles and Scientific Director of the Institut Jules Bordet in Brussels. A leader in breast cancer research and drug development, she has been the principal investigator of several major clinical trials, including HERA, MINDACT, ALTTO and APHINITY. Prof Piccart co-founded the Breast International Group (BIG), which unites 49 global research groups, and has received numerous prestigious awards, including the David  A. Karnofsky Memorial Award, the Fondation ARC Leopold Griffuel Award and the Bob Pinedo Cancer Care Award. She has also served as President of ESMO, ECCO and EORTC.
